From time to time I go back to Jamendo looking for something new to listen. Every time I get amazed by the quality of some of the albums that can be found there.

This time what drew my attention was the <a href="http://awards.jamendo.com/en/jamendoAwards2011">Jamendo Awards 2011</a>, which have been organized to both promote the music on Jamendo and to give a small prize to the winners. The awards have been set-up in several categories.

Sipping through the bands found there I've found lots of new artists whose music I liked (especially in the ''Instrumental'' section). I find this a great way to promote music and to have it reach wider audience without falling in for the ruse of large music industry businesses.
