Nowadays we are accustomed to using the mobile phones for all sorts of activities. Back in the old days, mobile phones were used mainly for calling people and sending them SMS. Things have changed over time, and now we have smart phones, supposedly univeral computing devices that happen to be usable for making phone calls and sendings SMS as well. After spending a couple of days on setting-up full installation, backup, and restore procedures for my new phone, I started wondering how smart they actually are. It should be noted that this post is mainly oriented on issues I have with Android phones.

Well, it certainly has been a long time since my last blog post. I almost find it funny how the last entry was about the move to Sweden, and then nothing.
It has been high time to bring a change to lack of content, so here we go again. :)
For me, New Year usually ...

Well, on May 30th I've finally made my move to Stockholm, Sweden, where I'll be working in a new position at PrimeKey Solutions AB. This should help me focus more on some PKI than in my previous assignment, and a big change is the fact that I'll be working for a company which is based ...

Following the successful migration of the rest of the infrastructure, it was due time for me to overhaul the web server a bit as well. This was a necessity both because Debian Lenny support was dropped in February, as well as due to cruft that got accumulated from the previous mail server set-up.

Quite some time ago I've started migrating my mail server and XMPP server set-up towards a new VPS where LDAP was to be the focal point. The idea was to have Postfix, Dovecot, ejabberd, and Roundcube utilise the same LDAP DIT for authentication and authorization purposes.
In addition to that I was planning on reinstalling ...

Some days ago I've upgraded my machine with a new HDD - 2TB Western Digital Green series. I also planned on upgrading my RAM to 4GB (from current 3GB), and did so yesterday. But, this was not a pleasant endeavor...
After opening-up the machine I've done some cleaning-up since quite a bit of dust had ...

Well, after my recent purchase of Android, I got back into reading books again. Using FBReader's built-in option for searching and downloading free e-books, I've stumbled upon a very nice fantasy book written by Elizabeth C. Mock titled http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/17486.
The book is supposed to be the first in ...

Last night was quite fun. After quite a long time, an interesting band decided to hold the concert in Belgrade - Pain of Salvation. Since we don't get many progressive bands playing here, I just had to go.
They were promoting their new album, but I've mostly listened to their older stuff ...

Well, after a lot of reluctance, I've finally made the jump onto the Android bandwagon. For a long time I haven't been ready to make the move onto it since I was hoping that a more Freedom-friendly platform would emerge, but alas, after Nokia's fiasco and MeeGo, there's not ...
